Physicist as Research Assistant (m/f/d)

• Development and testing of a mobile and automated radiation detection system for patient screening in emergency scenarios within the iMEDCAP project.
• Collaboration with international partners within the iMEDCAP consortium, including universities, research institutes, and industry.
• Presentation of interim and final results in international project meetings, scientific conferences, and workshops.
• Contribution to the preparation of research reports and scientific publications.
• Assistance in defining technical requirements for radiation detection and emergency management components.
• Participation in prototype testing and field trials, ensuring practical applicability of the developed solutions.

• Successfully completed Master’s degree or university diploma in engineering, physics, medical physics, radiation protection, applied physics, or a comparable field; PhD desirable.
• Proficiency in English at least C1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) or equivalent.
• German language skills are desirable.
• Ability to work independently as well as in an international, interdisciplinary team.
• Experience in radiation detection methods (e.g., gamma spectrometry) and metrology.
• Familiarity with radiation protection and emergency management.
• Programming skills for automation and data analysis are advantageous.
• Strong communication skills for presenting results in scientific and industrial contexts.
• Willingness to undergo a health suitability assessment.
• A successful Ü2 security clearance (beyond the probation period) is required.
