Director of Product Management and Application Engineering (m/f/x)

Strategic Leadership

• Vision Development: Establish and communicate a clear vision for product management and application engineering that aligns with the company’s overall strategic goals.
• Roadmap Creation: Develop comprehensive product roadmaps for lead-acid and lithium battery technologies, focusing on both current offerings and future innovations.

Market Analysis & Customer Insights

• Market Research: Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape dynamics. Focus on applications within BESS, electric vehicles (EVs), and industrial sectors.
• Customer Engagement: Engage with key customers and stakeholders to gather feedback on product performance and identify opportunities for improvement or new product development.

Product Development & Lifecycle Management

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead cross-functional teams comprising R&D, engineering, marketing, sales, and operations to ensure cohesive product development processes.
• Lifecycle Oversight: Manage the entire product lifecycle from ideation through commercialization. This includes defining product specifications, overseeing design and testing phases, and developing go-to-market strategies.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all products comply with relevant safety and environmental regulations, including those specific to battery manufacturing.

Financial Performance & Optimization

• Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for product lines, ensuring alignment with financial goals and resource allocation.
• Performance Metrics: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor product performance in the marketplace. Analyze data to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Team Leadership & Development

• Mentorship: Provide mentorship and guidance to a team of product managers and application engineers. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
• Talent Development: Identify skill gaps within the team and implement training programs to enhance capabilities in battery technology applications.

Educational Background:

• University degree in Engineering (Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical or similar).

Experience:

• Multiple years of experience in product management within the battery industry, with a focus on lead-acid and lithium technologies.

Technical Skills:

• Strong understanding of batteries, manufacturing processes, and application engineering principles.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to battery safety and environmental impact.

Leadership Qualities:

• Exceptional leadership skills with experience managing diverse teams across multiple functions.
• Strong analytical abilities coupled with excellent communication skills to effectively convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
