We are looking for support in our Cardiovascular Engineering unit to start as soon as possible. The successful candidate will work with human and animal cells of the cardiovascular system and support us in search of novel drugs for cardiovascular disease. This includes the work with human pluripotent stem cells and their derivatives to develop novel mRNA-based drugs for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases such as myocardial infarction and atherothrombosis.
RESEARCH ASSOCIATE (m/f/d)
Your tasks and responsibilities:
- Performing routine cell culture including the culture and differentiation of human pluripotent stem cells and derived cardiomyocytes
- Immunofluorescent stainings of cells and tissues
- Laboratory organisation, inventory, orderings and documentation
- Generation of data reports and communication to the team
What you bring:
- A completed training as a BTA/MTA, biological laboratory assistant, or a Bachelor's (B.Sc.)/Master's (M.Sc.) degree in natural sciences
- A substantial hands-on experience in cell culture of human and/or animal cells.
- Experience with stem cell culture is beneficial
- Experience with techniques such as flow cytometry, immunofluorescence staining, or qPCR is an advantage
- A very good technical understanding and the willingness to learn new work techniques
- An independent, precise, and reliable work ethic
- A high level of responsibility, commitment, and team spirit
- As part of an international team, strong communication skills in English are expected. German language skills are an advantage but not mandatory
