Forschungsschwerpunkte

Forschung ist eine wichtige Voraussetzung für Fortschritte in Diagnostik und Therapie. Viele neue Behandlungsformen werden erst möglich durch eine intensive Untersuchung von Krankheitsursachen und deren Entstehungsmechanismen. Forschungsschwerpunkte am UKE sind: Neurowissenschaften, Onkologie und Versorgungsforschung. Weitere umfassende Forschungsgebiete sind: Herz-Kreislaufforschung, angeborene Stoffwechselerkrankungen, Transplantation/Stammzelltherapie und molekulare Skelettbiologie und Endoprothetik. Darüber hinaus formieren sich in den Bereichen Infektionen und Entzündungen sowie Gentherapie derzeit neue integrative Forschungsinitiativen.
