Das Leibniz-Institut für Neurobiologie (LIN) Magdeburg ist ein Grundlagenforschungsinstitut, das sich Lern- und Gedächtnisprozessen widmet. Bei uns arbeiten Neurobiologen, Mediziner, Psychologen, Biochemiker und Physiker in interdisziplinären Gruppen an der Entschlüsselung der Hirnmechanismen von Lern- und Gedächtnisvorgängen auf allen Organisationsebenen des Gehirns – von molekularen und zellulären Prozessen über neuronale Netzwerke bis hin zur Analyse komplexer Verhaltensmuster bei Mensch und Tier. Getreu dem Leibniz’schen Leitspruch „Theoria cum Praxi“ verschreibt sich das LIN der grundlegenden Erforschung der Arbeitsweise des gesunden Gehirns als auch dem kausalen Verständnis seiner Erkrankungen.

Das LIN ist Mitglied der Leibniz-Gemeinschaft und bildet einen der Eckpfeiler des Neurowissenschaftsstandortes Magdeburg.
